A rubber cap in pipe fittings covers a matching pipe end or connection feature. The receiving profile needs to account for the pipe's outside diameter and any bead, thread or shoulder near the end. Those details can determine whether the cap seats over a useful length or stops at the first obstruction.
Silicone, NBR and EPDM options are distinct material choices. Select the formulation for the actual medium and exposure rather than assuming every cap material is suitable for the same pipe service. A protective closure and a pressure-retaining closure also require different evaluation; a snug fit by hand does not establish a pressure rating.
Clean the end and remove sharp burrs before fitting. Avoid dragging the cap's inner wall across damaged threads, which can leave hidden cuts. Check the rim after installation for folds or uneven contact. When removing the cap during servicing, ease it off without using a sharp tool against the rubber. Replace an enlarged or torn cap before relying on the closure again.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The receiving profile needs to account for the pipe's outside diameter and any bead, thread or shoulder near the end. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
