A rubber grommet lines a panel opening so that the passing component meets a flexible surface instead of an exposed hole edge. The area hidden inside the retaining groove deserves attention because it contacts the panel continuously and can be damaged by burrs or an unsuitable thickness fit.
Inspect the cutout before installation and match the groove to the wall it will hold. The center opening should also suit the cable or component route without forcing it hard against one side. A wear-resistant description does not remove the need to prepare a sharp panel edge or manage repeated rubbing at the entry.
After fitting, check that the lips are fully seated and that the passing component has a practical bend and support arrangement. During maintenance, examine both the visible bore and the panel-contact area when accessible. If wear is concentrated in one location, investigate the route or movement creating it. Installing an identical replacement without correcting that contact can reproduce the same damage beneath an otherwise sound-looking flange.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The center opening should also suit the cable or component route without forcing it hard against one side. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
