An oblong blanking grommet can be custom developed to close an elongated cutout that does not need a cable passage. The long and short dimensions, end contours and retaining profile should match the opening and supporting thickness. Its closed central region serves a different purpose from an open cable grommet.
Check the grommet at both rounded ends during fitting. The body may settle along the longer sides while an end remains folded beneath the cutout edge. Remove burrs or splinters from metal or wood openings before insertion, and inspect the full perimeter once seated.
Material, hardness and color can be selected for the intended location. If the opening later needs a cable route, use a profile designed for that passage rather than cutting the blanking body arbitrarily. During removal, protect the retaining edge from sharp tools. Examine the hidden seat before reuse so an intact exterior does not conceal a torn region responsible for holding the blank in place.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If the opening later needs a cable route, use a profile designed for that passage rather than cutting the blanking body arbitrarily. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
