Rubber Plugs for Holes can be customized in silicone with a profile developed for the intended compressive contact. Structure, dimensions, hardness and color are selectable features. The body should be designed around the hole's actual shape and depth so compression occurs where it is needed to establish the closure.
Check the entry region and the final seat separately. An opening may accept the narrow or flexible entry section but still prevent the working body from reaching its correct position. Excessive force can fold the rubber or damage it against the edge instead of improving contact.
Choose the finished formulation for the contents and environment. Fit the plug into a clean opening and inspect the perimeter before nearby components conceal it. During maintenance, compare its seating position with the intended profile and examine the inserted region for damage. A persistent change in shape should prompt replacement or a review of the fit. Do not compensate for an incorrect hole match by trimming the body or adding unplanned packing around it.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
