Product Overview
A flexible rubber cable grommet should settle into its designated opening without remaining stretched or folded after installation. The part's flexibility can assist fitting, but the final profile still needs to match the panel and cable rather than relying on continuous deformation to hold an unsuitable shape.
Develop the retained section and passage around the finished mating dimensions. Select the silicone or other rubber formulation for the entry environment. Include the cable's approach direction and the space available behind the panel when evaluating the profile.
After fitting, inspect both sides where possible and check the cable route in its intended supports. If the rubber remains visibly twisted, remove it and review the orientation or opening geometry before continuing. During maintenance, inspect hidden sections whenever the cable is removed.
