A rubber closed grommet is a custom molded component for an opening that needs a defined rubber interface. For an unused entry, a closed center provides a blanking surface. If the assembly requires a wiring tube, the center and extension need to be designed for that particular route rather than treated as an arbitrary opening in a closure.
The outer seat should match the receiving wall and remain engaged around its perimeter. For a configuration intended to limit water entry, the wire-contact area and any adjoining tube also need a coordinated fit. The complete assembly determines the required exposure conditions and sealing behavior.
Install the part into a clean opening and inspect the retaining edge for folds. Keep a blanking center intact while it serves that purpose. In a wiring configuration, route the cable so it does not lever the rubber away from the wall. Recheck the entry after nearby supports are secured, and inspect the molded surfaces whenever wiring changes require the part to be removed or disturbed.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. In a wiring configuration, route the cable so it does not lever the rubber away from the wall. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
