Product Overview

An oval rubber grommet should match the long and short dimensions of the opening, including the shape of its curved ends. Stretching a nearly matching ring into place can change the contact along the sides and should not be used as the basis for a water-sealing configuration.

Develop the retained section and any passage around the actual panel and routed item. Select the material for the exposure at that location, then evaluate the completed entry under its required conditions. The waterproof description alone does not establish an ingress rating.

Fit the oval profile in its intended orientation and inspect both ends before routing the cable or tube. Check again after surrounding supports are secured so a routing load does not pull one side from its groove. During replacement, compare the opening with the designated profile rather than a distorted old grommet. If one end repeatedly lifts, inspect local geometry and alignment before changing only the rubber hardness.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Check again after surrounding supports are secured so a routing load does not pull one side from its groove.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
