A silicone threaded plug provides a custom closure for a matching threaded opening. Its size and color can be tailored to the application, while the thread form and seating arrangement need to follow the mating component. In a food contact assembly, select the finished silicone formulation for the actual contents, contact conditions and cleaning process.
Begin engagement with the plug aligned squarely. Flexible threads can appear to enter even when they are not following the intended path, so check that the part advances evenly. The final closing position should be determined by the designed sealing region rather than by applying progressively more twisting force.
Threads also introduce surfaces where residue can collect. Include access to those surfaces when planning routine cleaning, and remove debris before refitting the closure. Inspect the thread crests and the surface that contacts the opening for tears or distortion. A plug that has become difficult to engage may need cleaning or replacement; forcing it can damage the fit and make subsequent removal harder. Keep replacement variants identified by their actual thread geometry as well as color.

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
