A silicone rubber oval cable grommet protects a cable route through an elongated cutout. The custom outline should match the panel while the inner opening accommodates the completed cable group. Wear control begins with the way the bundle sits in that space, not only with material selection.
Arrange the cables so they do not gather tightly at one curved end. A support pulling the bundle sideways can concentrate rubbing in a small area while much of the oval remains unused. Check the final routing and locate the nearby supports accordingly.
Match the retaining profile to the panel thickness and end radii. The long sides should lie naturally against their seating surfaces, with no section stretched across an irregular edge. During assembly, guide connectors through without drawing the lip after them. Inspect again once the wiring is tied down. During maintenance, compare wear around both curved ends and the straight regions. Restore alignment before replacing a damaged grommet, preserving the inner clearance and outer profile that distribute contact as intended in the assembly.
