Product Overview

Large silicone rubber protective pads cover a broad contact area with a flexible bumper surface. Their custom dimensions should suit the region where the assembly needs separation or protection. A wide pad requires a suitable foundation so the full working area is supported as intended.

Check for seams, ribs or recesses beneath the proposed footprint. A broad pad bridging those features can deform differently across its face, concentrating contact at a few high points. The mounting arrangement and pad thickness should be selected together rather than using additional rubber to conceal an uneven support.

Observe the mating component through its expected movement. Contact should land on the intended face without catching a free edge. Leave clearance around neighboring openings and fasteners so the guard does not interfere with access or assembly closure.

Choose the silicone formulation for the operating exposure and assess the loaded contact in the completed product. During inspection, compare the center and perimeter for uneven compression or rubbing. Clean hard particles from the face before they become embedded. If the pad is replaced, restore the mounting surface and original section. Changes in footprint or thickness can move the contact point even when a larger pad appears to offer more coverage.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Choose the silicone formulation for the operating exposure and assess the loaded contact in the completed product.
Custom dimensions
Leave clearance around neighboring openings and fasteners so the guard does not interfere with access or assembly closure.
Fit & assembly
The mounting arrangement and pad thickness should be selected together rather than using additional rubber to conceal an uneven support.
Use & inspection
During inspection, compare the center and perimeter for uneven compression or rubbing.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
