A custom molded rubber bushing protects a cable at an industrial opening and should remain practical to inspect or replace. The bore, retained shape and surrounding access need to suit the actual assembly, particularly where the entry becomes concealed behind installed equipment. Material and dimensions can be selected for that location.
Review how the cable and bushing will be fitted before the area is closed. A large connector may require threading at an earlier stage, while a retaining lip may need access from the far side of the panel. Preserve enough working room to seat the rubber without cutting or stretching it around an obstruction. After the nearby components are installed, check that they do not press against the liner or alter the cable route. During service, release the surrounding restraints before withdrawing the cable. Inspect the internal contact area for hidden rubbing and the groove for damage. Correct any local interference before a new bushing is placed into the same restricted space.
