A rubber cable bush places a molded rubber interface between wiring and a receiving opening. Its custom shape can be developed for an automotive route, matching the wall and cable dimensions at the installation point. The component should be selected for the local environment rather than a general vehicle-wide temperature assumption.
Heat near an entry depends on nearby parts, airflow, and the operating cycle. The selected compound and the cable jacket both need to suit those conditions. The rubber name or appearance does not establish an operating temperature for the finished assembly.
Check the bush in the vehicle's assembled configuration, with the harness following its normal path. The cable should not be pulled across a retaining edge or crowded against another component. Seat the rubber fully in the cleaned opening and inspect for folds before closing surrounding trim or covers. During maintenance, look for hardening, cracking, or displacement at the entry, and correct any routing issue that repeatedly loads one side of the bush before fitting a replacement.
