Product Overview

A silicone cable hole cover can be configured as a grommet to protect wiring where elevated temperature is part of the intended environment. The rubber compound, cable covering and mounting geometry need to suit that location together. Custom dimensions and color are available, with the finished material selected around the actual operating conditions.

Assess the temperature at the panel edge as well as in the surrounding air. A nearby component can conduct heat through the wall or expose one side of the entry differently from the other. Include the duration and repetition of that exposure when evaluating the assembly, and keep the cable insulation suitable for the same conditions.

Fit the groove without trapping rubber against a sharp edge. Leave the cable route free from unnecessary tension so a thermal fit assessment is not confused by a persistent mechanical pull. Check the entry after the intended operating cycle and once it is safe to inspect, looking for changed seating or surface condition. If the cable or panel design changes, reassess the local exposure rather than transferring a previous temperature assumption to the revised installation.

Material options
Custom silicone formulation and color for the specified shape and working environment.
Hardness range
20–80 Shore A for silicone. Balance insertion flexibility with support around the opening. A nearby component can conduct heat through the wall or expose one side of the entry differently from the other.
Custom profile & fit

Assembly considerations
Leave the cable route free from unnecessary tension so a thermal fit assessment is not confused by a persistent mechanical pull.
Design check
Check the entry after the intended operating cycle and once it is safe to inspect, looking for changed seating or surface condition.

Choose a profile to compare part numbers and dimensions. Inch and metric sizes are listed in separate tables.

Type D Round Grommets in Inches

274 entries for Type D round through-hole grommets. Original fractions are retained, and exactly equivalent standard inch fractions replace decimal values where possible. Other values remain decimal inches.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
