Match the attachment and installation method
A conical rubber bumper uses its tapered body to locate in a matching mounting hole, leaving an exposed face for contact. The increasing diameter gives the stopper a seating region within the hole rather than requiring one straight-sided fit along its full length. Custom size, compound and color options allow the taper to be developed for the intended opening.
Compare the small end, large end and overall length together. These dimensions determine how far the stopper enters before the sides engage. The amount left exposed should support the intended removal method, especially when the closure is opened repeatedly. Check that the tip has clearance behind the hole and does not meet another component first.
For a bumper application, the load should meet the face intended for contact rather than drive the taper farther into an unsuitable hole. For a closure, insert it squarely and keep the contact surface clean. Examine the taper for a persistent crease or damaged ring after removal; such marks can reveal uneven seating that needs correcting before reuse.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A rubber conical stopper enters an opening with a tapered profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
