A rubber grommet cord entry can be customized in color as well as structure, dimensions, material and hardness. Color can distinguish an entry within a product layout, but the mechanical fit should remain tied to the cord and panel geometry. The rubber's stated purpose is to cushion the cord against cutout abrasion.
If different colors identify different assemblies, keep their corresponding dimensions and compounds defined as well. Two visually similar parts can have different groove widths or internal openings, and matching color alone is not a fit check. Inspect the selected entry against the actual cord jacket and finished panel thickness.
Water exclusion depends on the specific cord profile and the contact formed by the selected grommet. Assess the installed contact with the cord in its final routed position. Keep the retaining region free from paint chips or other debris, and examine the inner lip after assembly. During maintenance, replace the part with the correct configuration rather than using any available piece of the same color. This preserves the intended protection at the cord exit.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Two visually similar parts can have different groove widths or internal openings, and matching color alone is not a fit check. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
