Product Overview

An electronic switch keypad provides the flexible controls in a membrane-style interface. If the enclosure is intended to resist moisture, the assessment needs to include the surrounding openings as well as the keypad perimeter. A well-seated rubber edge does not address a gap elsewhere in the control assembly.

Review the relationship between the keys, front panel and any nearby joint or penetration. Check how the rubber is retained and whether securing the enclosure distorts a corner. The chosen switching construction should still have the necessary resting clearance and operating travel after the perimeter is located.

ETOL can tailor dimensions, structure, color and hardness to the proposed interface. Define any environmental requirement for the complete enclosure and evaluate it in that configuration; the waterproof wording does not assign an ingress rating to the assembled product.

Keep sealing areas clean during assembly and make sure no edge is folded beneath a retaining surface. After the enclosure is secured, test key movement as well as the intended protection function. During servicing, inspect the perimeter for damage before refitting the keypad. A replacement that changes the thickness at that interface should be reviewed even if the visible key positions remain identical.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Evaluate key press and return after the perimeter is retained; the selected grade must work with resting clearance and available operating travel.
Custom profile & fit
Customize key positions, exposed profile and perimeter thickness around the front panel, retaining surfaces and nearby enclosure joints.
Assembly considerations
A well-seated rubber edge does not address a gap elsewhere in the control assembly.
Design check
Review the relationship between the keys, front panel and any nearby joint or penetration.

Photos illustrate structure or material only. The keypad perimeter must fit the surrounding enclosure openings without restricting button movement. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
