A rubber damper bumper gives a moving component a resilient contact point at a defined part of its travel. The custom shape should match both the mounting seat and the face that meets it. Where the part also serves as a support mount, the steady load needs to be considered alongside the stopping contact.
Observe the approach direction before fixing the bumper location. A glancing impact may roll across the edge, while a centered approach uses the intended contact face. The structure behind the rubber must support the force without allowing the whole bumper to shift.
Leave room for the working deformation and check that another rigid surface does not become the stop first. Compound and hardness choices depend on the actual contact conditions, with no damping value implied by appearance. After initial use, examine the contact marks on the bumper and the mating part. A mark concentrated at one corner can reveal misalignment that should be corrected before replacing a worn buffer with an identical one.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Where the part also serves as a support mount, the steady load needs to be considered alongside the stopping contact. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
