Product Overview

A sealing tight rubber plug uses a custom silicone body to close a mating opening. Profile, size and hardness can be developed around the required contact area and removal method. A secure fit comes from the relationship between the two components, including the opening's surface and the length of rubber that engages it.

Distinguish full seating from resistance during insertion. A plug may become difficult to move because it is tilted, caught on an edge or contacting an internal obstruction. These conditions can occur before the intended sealing surface is reached. Check the alignment and available depth rather than increasing force when the part stops unexpectedly. The exposed portion should remain accessible enough to remove the closure using its designed grip area. Clean the opening before refitting and select the silicone formulation for the contents and cleaning process. If the contact area becomes cut or the fit changes after exposure, inspect both components and replace the affected plug with the correct configuration. Extra interference is not a substitute for correcting a damaged receiving surface.
