Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A sealing rubber plug needs a contact profile matched to the hole and a retaining arrangement suited to the forces acting across it. The silicone version should be selected for the actual medium and temperature. Water resistance is assessed on the completed closure, including the condition of the opening and the direction of any pressure difference.
Check insertion depth and the exposed removal area. The plug should reach its designed position without an internal obstruction or a folded edge. Leave enough access for service after nearby hardware is installed.
Fit on clean surfaces and inspect the contact boundary before use. Remove the closure only under the appropriate condition for the equipment, addressing pressure where relevant. During reuse, check for cuts and persistent distortion along the sealing band. If the plug repeatedly moves or seats unevenly, examine the opening and operating conditions rather than forcing it farther into the hole and changing the intended contact location.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A Sealing rubber plug needs a contact profile matched to the hole and a retaining arrangement suited to the forces acting across it. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
