Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Rubber plugs and caps provide two different ways to close a mating feature. An inserting plug contacts the inside of an opening, while a silicone cover fits over an outside profile. Define that interface before choosing dimensions so an internal fit is not confused with the visible diameter of a cover head.
Check usable depth, shoulders, and clearance around the exposed handling region. Select the compound for the actual substances, temperature, and removal frequency. Any sealing duty should be assessed using the complete contact and retention arrangement under the relevant conditions.
Fit in line with the mating feature and keep the edge from folding beneath itself. Inspect after nearby hardware is assembled to confirm the closure remains accessible and undisturbed. During maintenance, check the contact band for cuts and the handling region for tears. A part that no longer seats consistently should be replaced with the intended profile after the receiving feature has been examined for wear, damage, or buildup affecting the fit.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. An inserting plug contacts the inside of an opening, while a silicone cover fits over an outside profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
