A silicone sealing strip uses a consistent extruded profile along its length, while a molded silicone O-ring provides a closed outline. Choosing between those formats should account for the joint where a length of profile meets its own end. The contact section may be similar, but the end arrangement becomes an additional part of the sealing path.
Match the cross section to the groove and available compression. Check corner radii and the route the profile must follow without kinking or changing shape. Select the silicone formulation for the actual medium and temperature at the joint.
Fit the length without stretching it to reach the final position, since recovery can leave an end gap. Keep cuts and any joining arrangement appropriate to the selected design. After closure, inspect for buckling or displacement from the seat. During maintenance, examine meeting ends alongside the rest of the contact path. A replacement length should restore the intended profile and end condition rather than simply fill the visible perimeter with an approximate piece of rubber.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
