Match the attachment and installation method
Rubber solid plugs can close selected vehicle openings without a passage through the center. The EPDM configuration should match the actual contact geometry and local exposure, including temperature and nearby fluids. A solid body still needs a retaining arrangement suited to the opening and any force acting across it.
Check the inserting dimensions, available depth, and the surface against which the plug seats. Leave enough exposed material for the intended removal method, especially where surrounding hardware limits access. Determine whether the position is simply blanked or has a defined sealing duty that must be assessed in the complete assembly.
Fit in line with the opening and inspect for a folded edge. Keep sharp tools away from the solid center rather than piercing it to assist removal. During service, check for cuts or persistent deformation along the contact band. If the same location repeatedly damages the plug, inspect the receiving edge and nearby contact before installing a replacement of the intended specification.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The EPDM configuration should match the actual contact geometry and local exposure, including temperature and nearby fluids. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
