Rubber grommet material should be selected for each cable entry and its operating environment. Nitrile, EPDM, silicone, and other options should not be treated as interchangeable simply because they can share an outline. The selected material needs to work with both the service exposure and the deformation required during fitting.
Define the cutout, supporting thickness, and passage dimensions for the assembled component. Check whether a larger connector must pass through temporarily and whether the grommet remains accessible afterward. The geometry should retain correctly without relying on permanent overstretch.
Install the selected version on a smooth edge and inspect the seat after routing is complete. Keep replacement materials identified by their intended specification. If the temperature, fluid exposure, or cable covering changes, reassess the material and installed contact together. Choosing a harder or softer alternative without that check may change how the inner passage and outer retaining lip respond within the same panel opening.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Choosing a harder or softer alternative without that check may change how the inner passage and outer retaining lip respond within the same panel opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
