A rubber anti-vibration grommet provides a compliant interface at a mounting or passing point. EPDM, NBR, and SBR are separate material options that can be considered for the application. The grommet profile should match the supporting opening and the component it surrounds, with room for the intended rubber deformation.
The hardware arrangement determines whether the rubber can perform its role. A fastener or adjacent metal part that contacts the supporting panel directly may create a rigid path around the grommet. Establish the full assembly, including any spacers or supporting faces used in the design, before selecting the bore and groove dimensions.
Assess the fitted component with the actual load, motion, and operating conditions. Hardness and size are design inputs, not a universal isolation rating. Keep the receiving edge smooth so the rubber is not cut during installation, and check that the retaining profile remains seated after the assembly is secured. During maintenance, inspect for uneven compression or unwanted contact that has developed as nearby components have moved or been adjusted.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The grommet profile should match the supporting opening and the component it surrounds, with room for the intended rubber deformation. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
