A silicone cable grommet creates a rubber interface at a cable opening, with a custom profile that can suit the surrounding enclosure. The space immediately outside that opening is part of the design. If a neighboring wall forces the cable into a sharp turn, the jacket can press persistently against one side of the grommet even when its passage diameter is correct.
Check the cutout, panel thickness, and cable bend together. Include the room needed by any connector or sleeve during assembly. The visible outer flange should not interfere with adjacent controls or covers, and the rear retaining edge needs enough access to settle fully.
Install the part before fixing the cable in its final route. Check the seat again after supports are tightened, since cable positioning can pull a previously seated lip out of place. During service, inspect the side facing the bend for rubbing or thinning. If that wear repeatedly returns, increase clearance or revise the route instead of treating replacement of the insert as the complete remedy.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If a neighboring wall forces the cable into a sharp turn, the jacket can press persistently against one side of the grommet even when its passage diameter is correct. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
