Cable grommet bushes provide flexible protection where wiring crosses a support in an industrial machine. The custom profile should follow the panel and the routed cable, with the compound selected for the local conditions. Service access can create cable positions that differ from ordinary operation and should be considered during design.
Check the route when a cover is opened or a nearby module is withdrawn. The lead should have enough supported freedom to move without dragging the grommet from its seat. The rubber should protect the crossing rather than act as the only restraint for a cable span.
Match the bore to the finished cable profile and the outer retaining area to the panel thickness. During assembly, keep sharp connector edges from scraping the inner wall. Inspect the part after normal supports and service loops are positioned. During maintenance, release the appropriate restraints before pulling the cable through. Restore the route and seating afterward, checking for a hidden rolled flange. A replacement should preserve the contact length as well as the visible outline so the protected crossing remains in the intended location.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom profile should follow the panel and the routed cable, with the compound selected for the local conditions. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
