Product Overview

A long-shaped silicone gasket follows an extended machine joint where the sealing path continues between widely separated areas of support. Its outline can accommodate the opening and the fastening positions, but the long dimension makes flat placement and even closure especially important. A small shift at one end can move an opening out of alignment farther along the part.

Lay out the gasket against the full mating surface, checking end shapes and hole spacing before assembly. Consider how the adjoining cover bends between fasteners. Extra gasket thickness cannot reliably correct a closing face that leaves uneven compression along its length, and it may alter clearance at the more tightly supported ends.

During fitting, place the entire part without pulling it lengthwise to align the last hole. Bring the cover down evenly, keeping the gasket supported until the locating features engage. Check exposed edges for waves or sections displaced from the contact path.

For maintenance, compare wear along the full length instead of inspecting only the ends. Local flattening beside fasteners and a less compressed center can indicate that the joint needs a more even closing condition. Clean the mating faces without gouging them and choose the silicone formulation around the actual medium and temperature. Store replacement gaskets flat or otherwise supported so a long unsupported section does not acquire a difficult installation shape.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Local flattening beside fasteners and a less compressed center can indicate that the joint needs a more even closing condition.
Custom dimensions

Use & inspection
For maintenance, compare wear along the full length instead of inspecting only the ends.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
