Match the attachment and installation method
A nitrile rubber grommet should use a selected NBR formulation suited to the actual cable contact and environment. Silicone variants may be developed for different conditions, but visually similar small parts should not be treated as interchangeable. The material choice and installed fit need assessment together.
Custom dimensions, hardness and colors allow the part to follow the opening. Define the cable bore and panel groove separately, including the finished jacket or wrapping that occupies the passage. The opening should provide enough space for the retaining lip to seat on both faces.
Evaluate representative assemblies with the intended material and cable. Check insertion, cable movement and panel retention after the route is secured. During maintenance, inspect for changes in surface condition or fit after exposure. Keep compound variants identified when their dimensions are the same. If the operating fluid or temperature changes, review the formulation rather than selecting a replacement only by size. A tighter fit should not be used as a substitute for a material suitable for the application.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The opening should provide enough space for the retaining lip to seat on both faces. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
