Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Hole plug rubber grommets for fire wall applications should be developed around the specific panel opening and the intended closed configuration. The retaining profile needs to match the finished wall thickness, while the center closes the unused passage. The installation location alone does not establish a fire barrier rating.
Custom materials, dimensions, hardness and colors allow the part to follow the assembly. Select the formulation for the actual heat, fluids and environmental exposure, and assess any required barrier function on the complete construction. Define the removal method and access on both sides of the panel.
Inspect the opening edge before fitting and check the full perimeter after insertion. Nearby wiring or hardware should not press unintentionally against the blank center. During service, examine hidden retaining areas for cuts or displacement. If the opening is later populated with a cable, use the developed cable entry configuration and reassess routing and protection needs. Cutting an informal passage through the blank center changes the closure and should not replace a properly developed arrangement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The retaining profile needs to match the finished wall thickness, while the center closes the unused passage. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
