An oval rubber grommet follows an elongated opening and provides a shaped interface for a cable entry. Its long sides and rounded ends need to match the receiving panel, while the cable passage is sized for the intended route. Custom dimensions allow the insert to fit a specific opening rather than relying on a round part stretched out of shape.
When the design is intended to limit water entry, inspect the rounded ends carefully. Uneven seating at these areas can remain unnoticed when the longer sides look flush. Panel thickness, edge shape, and cable loading all affect the final contact around the insert.
Install the grommet in its intended orientation and keep the cable from pushing against one end. Check the full perimeter again after securing nearby wiring, since a clamp position can change the force at the entry. The required water protection belongs to the complete assembled enclosure and its operating conditions. Use the grommet as a fitted component within that design, with adequate clearance for inspection and later cable servicing.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Panel thickness, edge shape, and cable loading all affect the final contact around the insert. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
