A rubber damper intended for a tear-resistant design still needs geometry suited to the way the assembly moves. Abrupt transitions, thin edges and unintended contact with hardware can concentrate deformation. The selected compound should be evaluated with that shape rather than treated as a way to overcome any installation condition.
