Product Overview

A rectangular food grade o-ring seal should have both its outline and section clearly defined. A flat section and a round section require different supporting geometry, even when the ring follows the same rectangular path. The mating joint determines the appropriate profile and compression.

Silicone and Viton or FKM material options should be selected for the actual food contact and operating conditions. Define the formulation, medium, temperature and cleaning process rather than treating material names as interchangeable. Custom dimensions and colors can follow the assembly.

Check the corners and straight regions in the receiving seat before closure. Avoid twisting the ring or stretching one side to overcome an unsuitable outline. Evaluate the finished joint using representative conditions, including any pressure requirement where applicable. During maintenance, inspect the contact surface for cuts, residue and permanent distortion. If a different compound is introduced, reassess the installed fit as well as exposure suitability. A matching outside shape does not establish that the replacement will occupy the same groove space under compression.

Material options
FKM / Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Avoid twisting the ring or stretching one side to overcome an unsuitable outline.
Custom dimensions
A flat section and a round section require different supporting geometry, even when the ring follows the same rectangular path.
Fit & assembly
Check the corners and straight regions in the receiving seat before closure.
Use & inspection
During maintenance, inspect the contact surface for cuts, residue and permanent distortion.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
