A rubber hole tube plug can be made in a selected compound to suit a defined closure application. NBR, neoprene, EPDM and silicone are different material families, so the final choice should reflect the substances, temperatures and cleaning conditions the plug will encounter. Listing several options does not make them interchangeable in service.
The receiving tube also defines the necessary shape. Bore diameter, internal seam, available depth and any change in section affect how the insertion surface makes contact. A suitable compound in an unsuitable profile will not provide the intended fit.
Evaluate the completed closure for its actual duty, including any sealing requirement, rather than assuming a pressure capability from the material name. Prepare the opening so sharp edges do not cut the plug during insertion. Keep track of the selected configuration during replacement, particularly when similar-looking plugs use different compounds. Inspect used parts for swelling, cuts or permanent distortion before returning them to the same tube opening.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Bore diameter, internal seam, available depth and any change in section affect how the insertion surface makes contact. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
