Product Overview

An adhesive rubber pad combines a flat flexible contact with an adhesive backing. The 3M reference identifies a brand associated with the backing, but the actual adhesive grade and the surface being bonded still determine suitability. A brand name alone does not establish compatibility with every coating, plastic, or operating environment.

Define the pad position and the force direction before application. A pad compressed against its base experiences different attachment demands from one repeatedly dragged sideways or peeled at an edge. The bonding area should support the full intended footprint and be prepared for the selected adhesive rather than covered over existing residue.

Apply the pad without stretching it or repeatedly repositioning the exposed backing. Assess the complete arrangement under its expected contact and movement. For vibration-related use, verify that adjacent hard parts do not bypass the flexible layer and that the chosen pad geometry suits the load. Inspect for early edge lift during service; addressing surface condition or an unfavorable force direction is more useful than assuming another adhesive label will resolve the same installation problem.

Material options
Custom silicone or rubber formulation, with dimensions and color adapted to the mating component.
Hardness range
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A; rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: A pad compressed against its base experiences different attachment demands from one repeatedly dragged sideways or peeled at an edge.
Custom profile & fit
For vibration-related use, verify that adjacent hard parts do not bypass the flexible layer and that the chosen pad geometry suits the load.
Assembly considerations

Design check

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
