Product Overview

A Buna-N rubber thin gasket can be custom formed around a nonstandard sealing path. Its outline may need to pass around openings or nearby features, leaving narrow sections that require careful support.

Define the relationship between each opening and the outer edge. A small positional mismatch can pull a narrow bridge out of shape even when the rest of the gasket appears aligned. Thickness should follow the designed closing gap rather than being chosen to make the loose component easier to handle.

Install the gasket without stretching one region to reach a locating feature. Check the narrow sections before the mating part covers them and guide that part into place without sideways dragging. Use the assembly's intended closing sequence to establish compression. During replacement, inspect the bridges and inner corners for tears that may be difficult to see on the broad face. Store unused shaped gaskets flat so that their less-supported portions remain ready to seat naturally.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
