A thick rubber gasket in washer form occupies a larger portion of the assembled gap than a thin sealing sheet. Its custom profile can provide a defined flexible layer between mating components, but the additional thickness needs to be coordinated with fastener engagement and surrounding clearance. It should not be used simply to fill an unexplained gap in an otherwise mismatched assembly.
Consider how the washer is supported across its faces. A broad contact land keeps the intended area engaged, whereas a narrow metal edge can create a concentrated impression. The central hole must remain suitable after compression, particularly where a shaft or other component passes through it.
Check the final assembly height with the selected compound and intended tightening arrangement. Enough rubber should remain in the designed contact zone without being forced into nearby openings. During service, look for bulging or an uneven profile that indicates excessive or off-center compression. A replacement should reproduce the required loaded fit, with material choice based on the actual environment rather than on thickness alone.

Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
