A cable protector grommet creates a softer contact surface at a panel penetration. This custom offering includes round forms and alternatives such as oval, rectangular and blind profiles. Material, hardness and color can be adjusted, allowing the protective feature to be designed around the cable route and the surrounding part.
Begin with the places the cable can actually touch. A lead that exits at an angle may bear against one side of the opening, while a centered cable may move across several edges during servicing. The selected profile should keep rubber between those contact points and the panel throughout that expected movement.
An open round design provides a passage; a blind design closes the center. Keep that functional choice clear before considering color or external appearance. The mounting groove and flange must also match the local wall so the grommet remains retained when the cable is handled.
After installation, check the cable covering for pressure marks near the entry. A pronounced mark can indicate that the bore or route needs adjustment. Replacing a worn protector without removing the side load may allow the same damage to return.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The mounting groove and flange must also match the local wall so the grommet remains retained when the cable is handled. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
