A rubber grommet for round cable should fit the jacket while allowing the cable to follow its intended route. The bore is only circular in an unloaded part; sideways pull from a tightly positioned cable can distort the opening and load one edge more heavily than the other.
Measure the finished jacket diameter and consider normal variation between cable supplies. For a close fitting design, evaluate insertion and movement with representative cable lengths rather than a short rigid sample alone. A long cable's weight and bend can change the forces at the grommet.
This silicone part can be customized in size and color. Place nearby cable supports so the cable approaches the opening without an abrupt turn, and ensure that the retaining feature is fully engaged in the panel. After final routing, inspect the bore for pinching or a rolled edge. If the cable is later replaced with a different outside diameter, review the grommet fit instead of assuming that the same electrical cable rating means the same physical size.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Place nearby cable supports so the cable approaches the opening without an abrupt turn, and ensure that the retaining feature is fully engaged in the panel. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
