A rubber o-ring flat washer configuration should have its section defined before the material is selected. A round section ring and a flat washer contact the joint differently, even if their overall diameters are similar. The receiving groove or sealing land determines the appropriate geometry.
For chemical exposure, select the compound using the actual substance, concentration, temperature and contact duration. Custom materials, dimensions, hardness and colors are available. Evaluate the chosen formulation in the intended compressed condition rather than assuming that a general chemical resistance description covers every fluid.
Inspect the joint after representative exposure for changes in fit, surface condition or compression. Swelling can reduce available groove space, while hardening may alter contact with the mating surfaces. Keep the seat clean during assembly and avoid twisting a ring or folding a flat edge. If the medium or cleaning process changes, review material suitability and installed geometry together. A dimensionally identical replacement is not necessarily appropriate when its formulation differs from the developed seal.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Swelling can reduce available groove space, while hardening may alter contact with the mating surfaces. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
