Match the attachment and installation method
Stoppers with 8mm hole geometry provide a defined central passage through a custom molded closure. The hole dimension is one part of the design; the outside body and seating depth still need to match the receiving opening. The component passing through the hole should be selected around the intended contact relationship.
Check its actual outside diameter and surface at the point that meets the rubber. An 8 mm hole does not automatically establish the interference or clearance required for every 8 mm component. The surrounding stopper wall also needs enough support so inserting the component does not distort the outer seat.
Plan the assembly sequence if the tube or wire assembly has an enlarged end. Fit clean surfaces together without dragging the rubber over sharp edges, then seat the stopper at its intended depth. Inspect both interfaces with the inserted component in its final route. The complete arrangement determines sealing performance and permitted operating conditions. Keep the passage intact in its designed form and replace damaged rubber rather than enlarging the hole to compensate for an incompatible component.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The surrounding stopper wall also needs enough support so inserting the component does not distort the outer seat. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
