A silicone rubber bung can close a pipe opening with a custom molded profile. Different colors are available for identifying closure sizes or assigned locations within a product or maintenance routine. Dimensions and hardness are selected around the pipe bore and the intended handling conditions.
Use color as a visible identifier tied to a defined bung configuration. The bore size, insertion depth and any internal feature still determine the physical fit. A colored head is most useful when enough of it remains visible after the bung is seated, with access for controlled removal. Check the opening for debris and sharp edges before fitting, and keep the contacting surface clean when the part is temporarily removed. Select the silicone formulation for any medium present at the pipe end. A closure used during storage or assembly should be distinguished from one intended to remain in an operating line, where the complete retention arrangement needs its own assessment. Return each bung to its assigned pipe location rather than relying on color alone when several similar sizes are present.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The bore size, insertion depth and any internal feature still determine the physical fit. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
