Product Overview

Conductive Carbon Pill Keypads combine a molded button interface with carbon contact elements for a compatible circuit board arrangement. The contact locations must follow the board pattern, while the visible buttons must suit the enclosure openings. Custom dimensions, colors and engraved or embossed details allow those two sides of the interface to be developed together.

Review alignment using the assembled board and housing. The carbon element needs to reach the intended contact area when the key is pressed, including presses slightly away from the center. A pad that is correctly positioned before fastening may shift when the housing closes. Locate the keypad so that its flexible regions can move without dragging the entire sheet sideways.

Hardness choices from 30 to 90 Shore A influence the rubber component, but electrical behavior depends on the completed contact arrangement. Check actuation, release and consistent input using the intended circuit. Do not try to correct uncertain input by selecting a softer material without examining alignment and available travel.

Handle the contact side carefully during assembly. Keep particles and cleaning residue away from the carbon elements and board contacts, and avoid scraping those surfaces. If an input becomes intermittent, inspect the physical seating and contact cleanliness as well as the visible key. Separating these checks makes it easier to identify whether the problem originates at the user interface, the moving contact or the surrounding assembly.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
