Product Overview

A Connector Rubber Grommet protects an entry used by a cable assembly with a connector. The connector body may be much larger than the cable that finally occupies the opening, making assembly order an important part of product selection.

Establish whether the connector can pass through the intended bore, whether the grommet is fitted before termination, or whether the entry requires a different custom structure. Forcing a bulky connector through a tight opening can stretch the mounting profile and score the rubber with connector shoulders or locking tabs.

ETOL customizes dimensions, shape, material, color and hardness. Once the cable is in place, its jacket and the panel need consistent contact with the relevant parts of the grommet. Keep connector weight from hanging directly on the bore; support the cable or connector in the surrounding assembly so the entry remains aligned.

Where moisture exclusion is required, evaluate the fitted arrangement with the connector and cable in their final positions. Pay attention to labels, seams or sleeving near the passage, since these can interrupt contact. During assembly, protect exposed connector features and keep sharp latch edges away from the rubber.

Finish by inspecting the entry after all mating connections are made. A connector can pull the cable in a new direction when plugged in, shifting the grommet even though it was correctly seated earlier.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Forcing a bulky connector through a tight opening can stretch the mounting profile and score the rubber with connector shoulders or locking tabs.
Custom profile & fit

Round Grommet Size Catalog

Choose a profile to compare part numbers and dimensions. Inch and metric sizes are listed in separate tables.

Type D Round Grommets in Inches

274 entries for Type D round through-hole grommets. Original fractions are retained, and exactly equivalent standard inch fractions replace decimal values where possible. Other values remain decimal inches.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
