Conductive rubber grommets provide a custom molded interface for a wire-connector assembly where the rubber has an intended electrical role. The mechanical profile still needs to fit the receiving feature and cable route. Conductivity should be treated as a specific design requirement rather than inferred from the component's appearance.
Establish where electrical contact is intended and which surrounding surfaces the rubber must meet. A conductive grommet should not be substituted for an insulating part solely because the dimensions match. The selected compound and assembled contact conditions need to provide the behavior required by the complete design; no resistance or shielding value follows automatically from the word conductive.
Check the panel opening, retaining groove, and connector clearance before installation. Keep the relevant contact areas clean and fit the part without damaging the rubber or trapping a wire. Evaluate both the mechanical fit and electrical function after the assembly is secured. During service, preserve the specified material as well as the dimensions, and inspect any mating contact surfaces if the grommet is removed or replaced.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A conductive grommet should not be substituted for an insulating part solely because the dimensions match. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
