Product Overview

Butyronitrile rubber grommets are a nitrile rubber option for a custom wire connector entry. Keep the chosen compound tied to the actual exposure at that location, since cleaning substances, nearby fluids, and operating temperature can all be relevant. Replacing an existing insert with a similar looking rubber part should preserve both its fit and its intended material specification.

The outer groove needs to engage the panel while the passage suits the finished wire arrangement. Check whether a connector housing must pass through during installation or whether the insert is fitted earlier in assembly. That sequence can determine the usable opening and the amount of temporary stretch required.

Remove burrs and loose coating from the cut edge before seating the part. Route wiring so connector servicing does not repeatedly drag it across the rubber at an angle. During inspection, look for swelling, surface damage, or a lip that has lost its seat. Correct the exposure or mechanical cause where possible before fitting a replacement, rather than assuming a tighter grommet will solve the problem.

Material options
Custom NBR formulation; tailor the geometry and color to the required interface and exposure.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Balance insertion flexibility with support around the opening. Replacing an existing insert with a similar looking rubber part should preserve both its fit and its intended material specification.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
