Automotive rubber long grommets extend the protected cable route beyond a short opening liner. Their length should follow the available space without forcing the harness against trim, a bracket or another component. Both ends of the extended section need to remain aligned with the route as the vehicle assembly reaches its finished configuration.
Custom silicone or rubber molding allows the length, passage and locating profile to be adapted to that route. Consider the harness diameter and the space taken by any wrapping or local branch. A long covering should not conceal a bend that is too tight for the cable underneath.
Trial the grommet with the harness in its final clips and the nearby parts installed. Look for compression along the covered length and pulling at the panel interface. If access work later moves the harness, check the grommet again before closing the trim. Keep the cable supported as required by the vehicle design so the extended rubber section protects the route without carrying unintended harness loads.

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
