An electrical silicone rubber grommet cushions a routed cable or harness at its designated opening within an automotive or industrial assembly. The geometry should keep the wire clear of the cut edge while allowing the retained section to remain seated after the surrounding equipment is installed.
Develop the passage and panel interface around the actual cable configuration. The electrical application does not itself establish an insulation rating or another tested electrical property for the molded part.
Fit the grommet before the route becomes inaccessible and inspect it again after nearby clips or covers are secured. Ensure that another component has not pushed the wire against one side of the opening. During servicing, examine the retained edge whenever the route is moved. Keep cable weight and pulling loads on the designated supports so the rubber entry can provide its intended protection without being used as an unspecified strain-relief component. Inspect nearby cable clips after servicing.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The geometry should keep the wire clear of the cut edge while allowing the retained section to remain seated after the surrounding equipment is installed. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
