A rubber seal stopper provides a molded closure at an opening, while a cap-style version covers an outside feature. The required profile should be established from the receiving part before material selection is finalized. For oil exposure, the exact compound must suit the actual oil and operating conditions.
Buna-N and silicone are different material choices and should not be treated as interchangeable because both can be molded into a similar closure. Consider the fluid formulation, temperature, and exposure duration. Cleaning products and incidental contact during maintenance can also influence the selection.
Check the seating diameter, depth, and accessible removal area. Fit the closure onto a clean, undamaged surface and inspect for uneven compression or a rolled edge. Do not force an approximate size farther into the opening to compensate for an unsuitable profile. Evaluate the complete closure for its intended sealing role, and inspect the contact surface after removal. Replace a part that has swollen, cracked, or permanently changed shape instead of relying on the original dimensions to describe its current fit.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
43 closed-end cap sizes. A is the inside diameter and C is the usable internal depth; B and D describe the outside envelope.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
