A rubber sealing bottle cap needs to contact the bottle at its intended sealing surface. The rim shape, neck profile, and closure depth determine where that contact forms. A closure that appears centered from above can still meet an internal feature too early or leave an uneven band around the rim.
Establish whether the selected design closes around the outside of the neck or engages within the opening. Include access for removal and the space available beneath any shoulder. The material formulation should suit the contents and cleaning conditions rather than being chosen solely because silicone is named in the product description.
Before fitting, inspect the bottle rim and remove particles that could interrupt contact or damage the rubber. Seat the closure evenly and assess leakage in the complete bottle and cap combination under the intended use conditions. Do not infer suitability for carbonation, pressure, or food contact from the closure shape alone. After repeated use, check the working edge for cuts and lasting distortion, not just the exposed portion used to grip the cap.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The bottle rim, neck profile and closure depth determine where the cap or stopper makes contact. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
