A door grommet provides a custom molded interface at an opening in a door assembly. The silicone profile should match the receiving feature and the component passing through it. Door movement, surrounding clearance, and any cleaning or contact requirements need to be considered together.
Check the route through the door's intended positions so the cable does not pull the rubber out of its seat. The finished wall thickness and opening shape determine the retaining profile. Where food contact is part of the application, select the exact compound for the substance, temperature, duration, and cleaning process involved rather than relying on a general food-grade label.
Install the grommet onto clean, smooth surfaces and inspect the perimeter before surrounding parts restrict access. Secure the route and check for trapped wires or lifted edges through normal movement. During service, recheck the entry after adjustments to the door or wiring. Replace damaged rubber with the matching geometry and selected compound so the original contact and movement arrangement is preserved.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The finished wall thickness and opening shape determine the retaining profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
